Membership

Required:

  • Attend rehearsals on Monday evenings, 7:15 – 9:30. Singers may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with repertoire if they miss more than three rehearsals. Rehearsals are live-streamed and recorded for virtual participation or later viewing so singers who must miss rehearsals, for illness or other reasons, can stay current.
  • Perform scheduled concerts. Concerts for the Fall session are usually the second weekend in December, on Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon. Spring concerts are in April or May. Dress rehearsals are on Thursday evening prior to concert weekend.
  • If possible, participate in the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium Seattle Sings Event. This choral festival takes place in Seattle one weekend in October every other year. The Bainbridge Chorale takes part as one of more than 30 regional choirs performing back-to-back over three days.

Optional, but encouraged

  • Community Sing-Along Events: Bainbridge Chorale hosts events throughout the year where we invite all members of the community to come together and sing, including Community Caroling and Messiah Sing-Along in December, and Bainbridge Sings in the summer.
  • Annual Fundraiser: Bainbridge Chorale typically holds an online auction during the Spring session each year. Members are asked to participate in the fundraiser in some way, by donating auction items, bidding, inviting friends, helping with auction item procurement or by donating cash.

An Audition is required for membership in the Chorale.   Auditions are generally held before the first and/or second rehearsal of each session.

Auditions for the Fall 2024 session will be held by appointment during the late afternoon and early evening of the first rehearsal on September 9. If necessary, auditions may also be held on the following Monday.

If you’re interested in joining the Chorale, please download and complete the Bainbridge Chorale vocal assessment form, scan or take a picture of it, and email it to info@bainbridgechorale.org prior to the first rehearsal. If you are unable to download, complete or return it, we will have forms available for you to complete at your audition. You will be contacted to set up an appointment time.
